About The Position

The Tool Cleaner plays a key role in supporting the production schedule by preparing, cleaning, and maintaining plastic injection molds used in manufacturing. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. The Tool Cleaner ensures molds are properly cleaned, inspected, assembled, and ready for production while maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Requirements

• Experience working in a manufacturing or plastic injection molding environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to work with tools and equipment.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, cranes, and hoists.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a physically active role requiring mobility and occasional strenuous activity.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with plastic injection molds or mold maintenance.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Follow the production schedule to determine which molds need to be pulled, cleaned, prepped, or returned to storage.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and hoists to transport molds safely throughout the facility.
• Disassemble and reassemble molds carefully to prevent damage to pins, springs, slides, and other components.
• Perform mold configuration changes such as swapping inserts during production runs.
• Support troubleshooting by assisting with re-cleaning and re-assembly of molds when processing issues occur.
• Inspect molds for wear, damage, or parts that require replacement or repair.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records through paperwork and electronic systems.
• Follow all safety procedures while working in an active manufacturing environment.
