About The Position

Movu US (stow) is a global leader in high-density, high-precision racking systems for warehouses, utilizing automated pallet shuttles to maximize storage, improve accuracy, and minimize costs. With 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and approximately 2000 employees worldwide, stow serves customers in 40 countries. The company established its first U.S. Office in Romeoville, IL in early 2021, growing to over 70 employees, and is opening its first manufacturing plant in the greater Atlanta area. This role is for a skilled Tool and Die Maker - Setup Technician who will work in a manufacturing environment, contributing to production and running a line. The position requires craftsmanship typically acquired through academic coursework combined with substantial on-the-job training, often in the form of an apprenticeship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent experience e. maintenance technician, welding technician, tool technician, die maintenance technician
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics
  • Experience using various machines and tools, including lathes, grinders, and milling machines
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Proven experience as a Die Setter or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with stamping presses or other die-based/ production systems
  • Ability to read, understand and complete and setup sheets
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Experience overhead crane
  • Understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part
  • Ability to prepare and run complex bend setups and roll forming operations

Responsibilities

  • Make jigs, fixtures, dies, gauges, machine tools, and other tools used in manufacturing processes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of tools and dies
  • Design and build tools and jigs using various machines and tools
  • Inspect finished tools and dies for accuracy and quality
  • Repair and maintain existing tools and dies
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tool/die and roll forming issues
  • Ensure that all tools and dies meet safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of tool and die maintenance and repairs
  • Set up and install dies in press machines according to specifications
  • Set coils on mandrel and feed up and in to die
  • Adjust and align dies and roll forming cassettes for optimal operation and product quality
  • Conduct trial runs after die setup to ensure proper functioning and output
  • Inspect tooling and equipment before and after use to detect defects or wear
  • Recommend minor repairs and maintenance on dies and related machinery
  • Work closely with machine operators, maintenance staff, and quality control to support production goals
  • Troubleshoot die and press problems to minimize downtime
  • Operate overhead crane
  • Run the production line
