Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical school training or 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience in a machine shop environment (2, 3, and 5-axis preferred)
  • Strong background with manual equipment (lathe, Bridgeport, surface grinder, jig bore)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions on repairs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Shows up, pays attention, and works safely
  • Can problem-solve without needing constant direction
  • Communicates clearly and works well with others
  • Willing to learn and continue building knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Build and repair tooling using manual and CNC machining equipment
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, and sketches to create or modify tools
  • Troubleshoot tooling, dies, and fixtures with minimal supervision
  • Perform machine setup and support production as needed
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Support rapid prototyping and tool design improvements
  • Document work using Global Shop (work orders, logs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
