The Tomahawk Weapons System Program Office (PMA-280) is responsible for both the life cycle management of the Tomahawk All-Up-Round (AUR) and the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) currently in-service aboard Fleet combatant surface ships and Fleet submarines. PMA-280 also works in cooperation with PMA-281 to manage, coordinate and sustain the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC), as well as all other elements of the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS). Three segments comprise the TWS system: the Tomahawk missile, the TTWCS, and the TMPC. This position directly supports the Tomahawk missile segment. This Senior Systems Engineer role directly supports the PMA280 Missile Systems APMSE responsible for the full-spectrum, multi-disciplinary technical management of the missile subsystems hardware and software that comprise both the Tomahawk Block IV & Block V missile product lines. The PMA-280 Missile Systems team maintains acquisition, technical and sustainment cognizance for the production of Block V missiles, and also for the Block IV missile recertification program where Block IV missiles are being modernized via the addition of a new NAV/COMMS radio, JMEWS incorporation (which replaces the existing missile warhead with the new increased capability warhead), M-Code (via incorporation of a new GPS receiver), and finally for all Block IV/V missile depot sustainment activities. Successful engineering support for these programs and efforts encompass the full spectrum of weapons acquisition (i.e., Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), Test & Evaluation support, Production & Sustainment/In-Service Engineering).
