About The Position

KinderPlace Early Learning Center at the Stamford JCC is currently accepting applications for our Toddler Room!! This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Toddler Educator who wants to play an active role in shaping the classroom environments and learning experiences of our children. In this position you will work with a team of enthusiastic professionals as we embrace the magic and joy early learning. We are a developmentally based, high quality program which provides a rich early learning experience based on values and traditions. Every classroom utilizes a play-based and project learning approach in creating and implementing activities that promote constructive learning. Our Early Childhood Educators value each child and family as individuals. They have the educational qualifications, dispositions, knowledge, dedication to learning, and professional commitment necessary to promote children and their families as they learn and develop. Educators work together with their team to develop, implement, and evaluate the classroom pedagogy, to provide a quality educational program reflecting the goals and values of the school. Educators monitor the development and learning of the children and partner with families in sharing this information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or Sociology; or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; or Child Developmental Associate Credential (CDA).
  • Meet Connecticut Office of Early Childhood requirements for teaching in an Early Childhood Learning Center.
  • CPR and First Aid, Administration of Medication and Epi-Pen certification or willingness to acquire it.
  • Strong English communication skills: oral, reading, and writing.
  • Working knowledge of the growth and development of young children.
  • Ability to supervise volunteers and substitutes.
  • Ability to relate to young children and adults in an emotionally responsive manner.
  • Competent in planning, scheduling, record keeping, and classroom management.
  • Motivated to learn and grow in an educational environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and individually.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a developmentally based early learning program.
  • Familiarity with play-based and project learning approaches.
  • Experience collaborating with specialists, coaches, and consultants.
