Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the assistant Preschool Teacher will assist the classroom teacher in setting up and implementing daily curriculum which promotes, social, cultural, education, physical and emotional growth. Additional responsibilities includes performing housekeeping chores as necessary and providing a quality experience to children that focuses on the YMCA Essential Functions: Has knowledge of and maintains NAEYC and DEEC standards. Assists classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Greets and interacts both with parents and children in a professional and friendly manner. Is cognizant of childrens' safety at all times. Makes and records observations of the children. Maintains classroom equipment. Change and feed children. Supervise outdoor play, handwashing, and toileting. attends and participates in family nights, staff meetings, staff trainings and YMCA special events. Additional duties as required and assigned by a supervisor to support the overall mission of the YMCA and to ensure the success of the Child Care Department.
