About The Position

The Toddler Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 18 months to 3 years. This role helps implement daily routines, classroom activities, and positive guidance strategies that promote each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Supervise toddlers to ensure a safe and caring environment at all times.
• Support children with daily routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, rest, and transitions.
• Foster positive relationships with children by engaging in play, conversation, and supportive interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom.
• Model and encourage respectful behavior, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
• Observe and report developmental progress, behaviors, and concerns to the Lead Teacher.
• Communicate effectively with staff and families to support each child’s growth.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.
