Summary: Educates and supports patients and their families in individual group settings; provides individual and group counseling on tobacco cessation.

Requirements

  • Maintain current TTS certification
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least one year's experience in counseling, health education, or patient care preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in chemical dependency treatment/tobacco cessation is desired.
  • Maintain annual RQI cognitive skills (BLS)
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to be flexible
  • Advance computer skills
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to provide counseling to patients and work with families, peers and employers.
  • One-on-one, face-to-face tobacco counseling.
  • Make calls to clients to reschedule
  • Chart documentation for each appointment
