About The Position

This position is responsible for setup, maintenance, and diagnostics of the Transportation Management System (TMS). This is inclusive of the setup of initial configuration, maintenance of configurations and troubleshooting of TMS system to support current and future business requirements. This person will also be responsible for maintaining the most up to date training information and will train all new TMS users at all levels. This person will work closely with the IT Supply Chain Team and Transportation Operations Teams. In addition, they will be responsible to identify trends, problems and then analyze, develop resolution plan in combination with operational teams, develop presentations to communicate project plans, deliver presentations, and implement solution. Serve as an internal functional help desk for Transportation. Responsible for annual system assessment to support 5 year plan. Collaboration with IT resources for all system changes, upgrades and system outages. Communications to internal and external associates about system availability, upgrades, system downtimes, outages and timeline for operational availability.

Requirements

• Technical experience with Transportation Management Systems required to include set up and configuration of TM
• Comprehensive knowledge of carrier rate structure and ability to integrate into TMS System
• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and departments within and outside the company.
• High level working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
• Ability to develop and produce adhoc reports from TMS system
• Ability to configure business rules into systematic planning parameters enabling freight optimization.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
• 4-6 years experience in a transportation system support role
• Bachelors Degree
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work aggressively to complete projects on time

Responsibilities

• Responsible for TMS configuration, TMS optimization and training at all levels.
• Extract data, develop and modify information, analyze and recommend actions based on statistical findings within the system.
• Assist in testing software and interfaces.
• Training and rollout of processes & system improvements including associate, vendors & carrier training.
• Extract data, develop and modify information, analyze and recommend actions based on statistical findings within the system.
• Create and deliver presentations to support recommended actions.
• Full assessment of TMS system to include future company growth and routings to multiple distribution centers by unit pick system.
• Adjust optimization as needed to accommodate changes in business rules.
• Assist with documentation of Transportation business requirements, system configuration and daily processes.
• Responsible for the analysis and execution of optimal freight levels for multiple DC based on budgeted productivity by product class.
• Assist with any projects requested by Manager
• Interactive ability to generate strong relationships and client confidence
• Ability to maintain a total service focus to all customers
• Support and assist in resolution of Transportation Department systems problems
• Document systems problems and down time to support performance
• Develop and lead project plans for special projects as assigned by Manager
