The Biomedical Technician III is responsible for performing planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards. This role involves managing all assigned equipment and scheduling service, performing pre-acceptance inspections, and developing preventive maintenance procedures on equipment. The technician maintains files on procedures and manuals, ensures test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals, and responds quickly to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns. Additionally, the technician researches and initiates orders for repair parts while working within established budget parameters, maintains a purchase order log, and validates invoices for payment. Informal training is provided to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as needed. The technician makes recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies on equipment and keeps the supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems. Participation in the Quality Improvement/Risk Management program is also required, along with maintaining an orderly and functional work environment. Emergency on-call responsibilities may be needed, and all significant asset-related actions must be documented in compliance with department practices. The technician participates in department meetings and collaborates with fellow technical personnel to stay updated on technical issues and device-related problems.
