About The Position

Reporting to the Dean of Students in Student Affairs, the Title IX Coordinator leads the University’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and related federal and state laws addressing sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, pregnancy and parenting protections, retaliation, and Power-Based Violence (PBV) involving students. The Title IX Coordinator provides institutional oversight of prevention, education, intake, assessment, supportive measures, and coordination of resolution processes under Title IX and applicable University Power-Based Violence policies and serves as the University’s central point of coordination for Title IX and PBV compliance, reporting, training, and interdepartmental response.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five (5) years of relevant experience in higher education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant experience may include Title IX or civil rights compliance; student affairs or conduct; housing, campus safety, counseling or advocacy services; athletics compliance; or higher education compliance and grievance resolution.
  • Knowledge of Title IX and applicable Power-Based Violence requirements in a higher education environment.
  • Experience with complaint intake, assessment, supportive measures, and resolution coordination.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and data integrity skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or advanced professional degree.
  • Title IX training or certification.
  • Experience administering electronic case management systems (e.g., Maxient).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the University’s Title IX program, including procedures, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Coordinate the University’s response to reports falling under applicable Power-Based Violence (PBV) policies, including prevention efforts, intake, supportive measures, and institutional reporting obligations.
  • Review and recommend updates to Title IX- and PBV-related policies, procedures, templates, and workflows; monitor regulatory developments and implement best practices.
  • Maintain required records, documentation standards, and secure records retention practices.
  • Receive and assess reports of sex-based discrimination, sexual misconduct, and PBV involving students; determine jurisdiction, applicable policy framework, and resolution pathways in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and document supportive measures and referrals to appropriate campus and community resources.
  • Facilitate informal resolution when appropriate and permitted, document outcomes.
  • Coordinate formal resolution processes by assigning and supporting appropriately trained personnel, ensuring role separation and consistency.
  • Oversee Title IX and PBV case management systems and ensure accurate categorization, routing, documentation, confidentiality, and data integrity.
  • Coordinate periodic system and data reconciliation activities with appropriate partners.
  • Lead Title IX and PBV prevention education and training initiatives; maintain training calendars, documentation, and resource materials.
  • Support student-focused prevention initiatives, including the It’s On Us Taskforce, and related campus programming.
  • Coordinate Title IX athletics compliance and gender equity considerations in collaboration with Athletics.
  • Complete NCAA transfer-related reviews consistent with established institutional processes.
  • Convene and participate in interdisciplinary case review meetings to evaluate safety concerns, case status, supportive measures, and closure readiness.
  • Prepare and submit required institutional, system, and regulatory reports; maintain Title IX, PBV, and related compliance web content.
  • Coordinate referral to the appropriate HR/EEO or other designated unit, when reports involve employee matters outside of the scope of this student-focused role.
