About The Position

Burr & Forman has an immediate opening for an experienced title insurance coordinator. This position may be located in Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte or Raleigh, NC; Jacksonville, Tampa or Orlando, FL; Charleston, Greenville, or Columbia, SC; or Mobile or Birmingham, AL. This position involves performing tasks that require knowledge of title searches, commitments, policies and endorsements, ALTA surveys, and other real estate documentation and due diligence related to commercial real estate transactions. In addition to commercial real estate experience, the ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or degree in paralegal studies/NALA paralegal certification preferred
• At least 2 years of demonstrative experience working with a title company, commercial real estate lender/servicer, real estate development company or similar experience involving commercial real estate transactions and title insurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Highly organized, detail-orientated, and proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
• Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review title commitments, title policies, title endorsements, title exception documents and ALTA surveys for commercial real estate transactions
• Interact with attorneys, real estate paralegals, and title agents to prepare and resolve title comments and finalize title proforma policies for real estate loan closings
• Maintain title and other due diligence files related to loan closings
• Assist with closing documentation and logistics such as settlement statements, handling of recordable documents, closing instructions and coordinating document execution
• Attend seminars produced by title company regarding changes/developments in real estate title area
• Coordinate post-closing follow up with loan parties and title companies
• Other responsibilities as needed
