About The Position

The Reynoldsburg City Schools Title I teacher works closely with their principal, building literacy specialist, and other school staff to provide high quality intervention at the building level. The Title I teacher will be responsible for supporting building intervention programs to ensure all students receive appropriate instruction and support. The following are minimum qualifications for the Title I teacher: Three to five years of successful classroom teaching that includes reading/literacy instruction. Completion of a professional development program or course in evidence-based language and literacy instruction. (LETRS, Aim Pathway, Keys to Literacy etc.) Completion of Ohio’s Science of Reading and/or Ohio’s Dyslexia modules Valid Ohio teaching license and appropriate grade level certification

Requirements

  • Three to five years of successful classroom teaching that includes reading/literacy instruction.

Nice To Haves

  • Five to seven years of successful classroom teaching that includes reading/literacy instruction.
  • A master’s degree in reading or literacy education, or master’s degree in a related area.
  • Expertise in how to improve student learning through the implementation of high-quality evidenced-based reading/literacy strategies.
  • Structured Literacy Certification or willingness to obtain within two years

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and implement the District and building intervention plans with administrators, staff members, students and parents.
  • Use individual student assessment data to construct appropriate intervention plans for qualifying individual students.
  • Document the progress of individual student intervention plans.
  • Maintain an accurate log of student and staff support services.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify and implement specific strategies to improve the performance of all students.
  • Assist administrators in reviewing building assessment data to recommend and support grade level improvement goals.
  • Assist administrators in reviewing assessment data to recommend and assist in building level professional development which support identified improvement goals.
  • Identify the resources and educational needs of the school’s parents to support academic improvement.
  • Serves on the building MTSS leadership team
  • Provides support to teachers for the implementation of universal, targeted, and inventive academic supports
  • Provides support to school staff regarding the progress of struggling students and offers suggestions for interventions to meet student needs
  • Provide guidance to classroom teachers in administering the dyslexia screening and communicating with families
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and accessible records for district and state reporting
