About The Position
The position involves assisting in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in the assigned area and relieving the teacher of various non-instructional duties. The aide will help manage student arrival and departure times, perform supportive tasks primarily of a non-instructional nature, and assist both the teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities. Maintaining discipline in the absence of the teacher, helping to keep a neat and orderly classroom, and tutoring students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning activities are also key responsibilities. The aide will supervise students throughout the day, including in the hall, lunchroom, auditorium, gym, and playground, and will assist the teacher with administrative tasks such as keeping records and preparing reports. Additional duties include helping with inventory and maintenance of equipment, keeping the teacher informed of individual student needs, participating in staff development training, attending faculty meetings, and assisting with classroom decorations for special events. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required.
