About The Position

The Title Assistant in Residential provides intermediate-level support to the Title team by taking responsibility for routine internal process and task management functions that are essential to maintaining daily workflow and product quality. A Title Assistant may be required to provide a variety of additional support functions to aid customer-facing team members in responding to internal and external customer requests. This position can be based out of our offices in Durango, Montrose or Grand Junction. Other locations, including remote work, may be considered. This is an in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to three years of title or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • One to three years of general clerical experience requiring strong attention to detail and process orientation may qualify in lieu of experience in the title or equivalent industry.
  • Solid working knowledge of business software suites such as Microsoft or Google.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls in a prompt and friendly manner.
  • Maintain a professional attitude while working directly with customers.
  • Process all title commitment inquiries via phone or email efficiently.
  • Process daily title search fallout.
  • Determine the status of fallout, and the appropriate course of action.
  • Obtain and provide document copies.
  • Review files for tax certs and order through the applicable vendor if required.
  • Properly manage and assign customer request ownership in the appropriate work queue(s).
  • Process and confirm rate quotes.
  • Process order cancellations.
  • Update the production software system and close out the file in the appropriate title plant.
  • Scan maps, upload to correct file, print off map and stage file for title, closing or customer records.
  • Track responses of indemnity requests; prepare and fax any additional indemnity requests
  • Review and upload over-limit approvals.
  • Perform judgment and bankruptcy research.
  • Attend training for knowledge and skill opportunities.
  • Attend department meetings to establish teamwork and gather technical and corporate information.
  • Maintain and protect corporate security by applying cybersecurity practices in daily decision-making and processes.
