The Tissue Recovery Coordinator (TRC) conducts all aspects of OurLegacy's deceased donor tissue recovery process for all medically suitable tissue donation cases arising in each of the following AdventHealth Central Florida hospitals: Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Celebration, Daytona Beach, Deland, East Orlando, Fish Memorial, Palm Coast, Kissimmee, Orlando, Waterman and Winter Park. Additionally, OurLegacy provides tissue recovery services to non-AdventHealth hospitals in the following counties: Brevard, Flagler Indian River, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia. For deaths occurring at each of these hospitals, the TRC is responsible to understand and comply with OurLegacy tissue donation policies and protocols for donor screening, evaluation, authorization, physical examination, surgical recovery and transportation. The TRC must have mastery of tissue donor criteria to ensure all authorized tissue cases conform to eligibility criteria established by OurLegacy and its tissue processing partners. To ensure the safety, usability and effectiveness of all donated tissues, the TRC performs the surgical procedure to remove donated tissue and must possess exceptional training and skill to remove deceased donor bone, skin, heart valves, saphenous veins, ligaments, tendons and other tissues so they are usable for transplantation. The TRC applies knowledge of required regulatory requirements to document all aspects of the surgical recovery procedure and safely transport all recovered tissue to the processing partner. The TRC must have mastery of OurLegacy and tissue processing partner policies; State of Florida laws; Federal laws and regulations; and American Association of Tissue Banking (AATB) standards and ensure compliance with same. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
