About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Tire Technician to join its Maintenance Team at Carlin. Requirements
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions
- Lift at least 50 lbs.
- Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model
- Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record
- Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment
- Experience handling tires
Responsibilities
- Maintain all tires on mine equipment, including passenger light vehicles and all off road vehicles
- Maintaining correct air pressures and tread depths
- Inspecting and removing worn or failed tires and installing replacement tires
- Repairing all repairable tires
- Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets
- Maintain shop areas, tools, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
