Parts Plus/Parts Authority is seeking a Tire Technician Professional for an immediate career opportunity in their rapidly expanding division. This role is pivotal for client fulfillment, ensuring the Tire Installation area is managed efficiently and in a timely manner to meet daily business and inventory replenishment demands. Requirements

  • One to two years plus experience as Tire Technician
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs

Responsibilities

  • Assess tread levels and valve quality on tires
  • Check wear patterns to determine how much life is left in the tire before it needs replacement
  • Re-tread a vehicle's tires
  • Use all safety related PPE such as gloves, safety glasses and tire cages while doing any work
  • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks
  • Unbolt wheels from vehicles and remove them, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools
  • Separate tires from wheels, using rubber mallets and metal bars or mechanical tire changers
  • Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes and tears
  • Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs into punctures, using hand tools
  • Reassemble tires onto wheels
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size and ply
  • Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels
  • Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels
  • Remount wheels onto vehicles
  • Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects
  • Maintain Inventory levels
  • Routine workplace maintenance
