About The Position

The Tire Technician I works under close supervision and direction This position assists in monitoring and maintenance of the overall condition of the tires on company vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Successful completion of assigned training in tire repair operations within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Some mechanic tools from an approved list of tools.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
  • Under close supervision will change, repair and rotate tires; process wheel torque sequences; conduct and document fleet checks; maintain service truck readiness; request parts and tires; respond to offsite or route service calls.
  • Track tire usage.
  • Document tire shop operations and track time in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used, and repair times.
  • Perform monthly inventories as required.
  • Immediately report any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Attend safety meetings.
  • May be required to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) not to exceed 26,000 pounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.
