Repairs and maintains tires and tire equipment for department vehicles. Maintains available inventory of all service center vehicles and equipment; tires, tubes, and wheels. Makes road calls to install tires on department vehicles, as needed. Inspects tools and equipment used in tire repair and requests replacement equipments as needed. Cleans, inspects, restores, and reassembles rims and rings to safe working condition. Balances tire and wheel after assembly. Coordinates with the Fleet Manager regarding upcoming equipment usage. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Knowledge of tire sensors and placement, knowledge of tractors, high water vehicles and Emergency Vehicles.
  • 2 years job related experience; thorough knowledge of tire and wheel maintenance.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize own work.
  • Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License.
