The position requires a mechanically inclined individual with experience in all phases of semi-trailer repairs, including brakes, electrical systems, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications. The role involves performing routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment in compliance with manufacturers and company schedules. The technician will need to access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance, which includes inspecting and working in, on, or under parts of trailers. The job requires the ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including outdoors in inclement weather, and to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally greater than 75 lbs. Responsibilities also include maintaining shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance, applying knowledge of DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other regulations, performing safety inspections, and following company policies and procedures.
