About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Tire Mechanics at their Kansas City, MO Service Center. Mechanics are responsible for changing and repairing tires on class 8 fleet vehicles. Candidates must have a good driving record and the ability to lift up to 125lbs, work in a fast-paced environment, and change, repair, and maintain tractor-trailer tires with ease. Other duties may apply as requested by management.

Requirements

• 1-year Commercial Tire experience
• Ability to lift 125 lbs
• Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods of time
• Current operator's license
• Basic knowledge of tire D.O.T. information
• Basic knowledge of out of service criteria
• Ability to identify the difference between a retread and a new tire
• Ability to identify each wheel type and proper fasteners
• Clean MVR required (good driving record)

• Ability to change, repair, and maintenance tractor-trailer tires with ease

Responsibilities

• Change, repair, and maintain tractor-trailer tires
• Change and repair tires on class 8 fleet vehicles
• Mount and dismount truck and car tires
• Operate off and on the truck balancer
• Operate and perform service calls on the road with a service truck
• Operate 1' air wrench
• Identify and operate basic hand tools
• Properly tighten all types of wheels
• Properly repair a tractor-trailer tire to company standards
• Perform other duties as requested by management
