Position Summary Supports the fleet maintenance operations by installing and inspecting tires and rims on tractor-trailers.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of tire mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Removes and installs tire and rim assemblies from class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, trailers, and converter dollies.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and stands to gain access to the unit and replace tire assemblies.
• Operates, lifts, moves, and stores specialized equipment to maintain, inspect, and repair tires or rims.
• Repairs tires outside the maintenance facility utilizing a service truck.
• Inspects tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Disposes of old tires in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Mounts and dismounts tires or rims using specialized tire machines.
