Work Arrangement: Tuesday - Saturday (unassigned hours) with the possibility of working overtime and holidays. What You'll Do: The Tire Mechanic will be responsible for safely removing and replacing truck tires using specialized equipment. Duties include operating a pneumatic jack to lift trailers, utilizing a tire removal machine, and making necessary adjustments to tire equipment to ensure proper operation. While accountable for meeting proficiency, safety, and quality requirements. PAY: As per CBA Benefits are provided for employees.

Requirements

  • Must have 2 - 3 years' verifiable Tire Mechanic Work experience, specializing in Truck & Trailer Tire repair and be able to furnish references from former employers specializing in truck & trailer tire repair.
  • Be able to identify and/or repair all the following tire defects: o Flat or over/under inflated o Kissing o 2/32 or less tread depth o Cap separation o Cut through cord side walls
  • Must be able to insert data into a system using a mobile electronic.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and work from service directives and technical instructions.
  • Must furnish small hand tools used in tire repair: pliers and probes for removing nails and 2 lb. hammers.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must have legible penmanship.
  • Have or are willing to attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) badge.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
