About The Position

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician at Sam's Club, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, aiming to deliver value to members. This role involves collaborating with other associates to ensure the club meets member expectations. Key aspects of the position include being a team member, an expert in safety, compliance, industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, and sales techniques. You will also leverage digital tools to drive sales and improve service, manage inventory, process transactions, maintain safety standards, and resolve member issues. Additionally, you will act as a talent ambassador, valuing the member experience, modeling high-quality service, and mentoring team members. Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if the position is received.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members to fulfil sales and service requests.
  • Educates other associates on tools, tasks, resources, and mentors new technicians.
  • Communicates and develops interpersonal skills for providing safe and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring systems), product specifications, and seasonality.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Point of Sale systems and phone and in-person selling techniques.
  • Leverages digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilizes hand-held technology and systems to make immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application, and training.
  • Adapts to new tools and encourages others to use them.
  • Communicates equipment, tools, and supplies needs to TBC Lead.
  • Tracks and monitors returns and special orders.
  • Operates cash registers and processes transactions.
  • Works hands-on in the physical area maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Audits safety and compliance standards.
  • Reports TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, and work areas.
  • Completes paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Ensures merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies member needs, assists members with purchasing decisions, and resolves issues and concerns.
  • Being a brand advocate by valuing the members experience in the TBC area and modeling high quality service and products.
  • Developing, influencing, and inspiring others for working in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team oriented.
  • Understanding the roadblocks and assisting in training team members.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
