About The Position

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician, you will provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department, aiming to deliver value to members. This role involves working collaboratively with other associates to meet member expectations. Key aspects include being a team member by collaborating and mentoring, being an expert in safety, compliance, industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, seasonality, and sales techniques. You will also act as a 'techie' by leveraging digital tools and handheld technology to drive sales, improve service, and make business decisions. As an 'owner', you will manage equipment needs, track orders, operate cash registers, maintain inventory, audit safety standards, report issues, complete documentation, and ensure proper merchandise handling. Furthermore, you will be a 'talent ambassador' by advocating for the brand, modeling high-quality service, developing and inspiring others, and assisting in training. The position requires compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and a commitment to completing work assignments, collaborating with stakeholders, and adapting to change. It also emphasizes respecting individuals, fostering a culture of belonging, working as a team, acting with integrity, and striving for excellence by prioritizing customers, making informed decisions, and driving continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfil sales and service requests.
  • Educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, and mentor new technicians.
  • Communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing safe and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring systems), product specifications, and seasonality.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Point of Sale systems and phone and in-person selling techniques.
  • Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilize handheld technology and systems to make immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application, and training.
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Communicate equipment, tools, and supplies needs to TBC Lead.
  • Track and monitor returns and special orders.
  • Operate cash registers and process transactions.
  • Work hands-on in the physical area, maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Audit safety and compliance standards.
  • Report TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, and work areas.
  • Complete paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Be a brand advocate by valuing the members experience in the TBC area and modeling high quality service and products.
  • Develop, influence, and inspire others for working in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team oriented.
  • Understand roadblocks and assist in training team members.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carrying out tasks, and communicating progress and information.
