About The Position

This is a detail-oriented manufacturing role responsible for preparing and blending materials used in wood coating production. The Tinter measures, loads, and mixes raw materials and colorants using specialized mixing equipment to produce batches that meet precise formulation and quality specifications. This role ensures consistency, accuracy, and adherence to production procedures while maintaining safety and quality standards. The Tinter collaborates with color, production and quality teams to verify that finished batches comply with required batch formulas, color standards, and manufacturing guidelines, supporting efficient and reliable coating production.

  • Work math problems with percentages and ratios
  • Operate Microsoft Office software and be able to learn Gemini business and development software
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver drums, containers, and material carts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions when measuring, pouring, and mixing materials.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach when loading materials into mixing equipment or retrieving supplies.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps to access mixing tanks or storage areas when necessary.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for precise measuring and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read labels, batch sheets, and measuring instruments, including color or shade variations when applicable.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and protective clothing.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, odors, chemicals, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts as required
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately make and tint batches to color specification
  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps
  • Follow hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Carryout routine and semi-routine color lab tasks
  • Become familiar with: Gemini’s different product technologies
  • How to apply different types of color products
  • Color computer software and how to adjust color of batches
  • Document all findings and communicate those findings to colleagues and supervisor
