As a Kiln Operator on the D Shift at Dal-Tile Corporation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Additional Finishes department within our manufacturing plant. Your primary responsibility will be to adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. You will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to producing high-quality tile and natural stone products, and your contributions will be vital to our success. In this position, you will follow the Quality Management System, which is certified to ISO 9001, ensuring that all finishing operations meet the required product specifications. You will perform necessary Lock/Tag/Test audits and assist in delivering weekly safety training materials to your colleagues. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and lubrication requirements for various equipment, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. You will assist the supervisor in coordinating the operations of the Additional Finishes department and will be responsible for training all new hires on safety protocols, quality policies, management systems, and the operation of finishing equipment. Your role will also involve collaborating with the maintenance team to develop and sustain operator basic care programs, ensuring that all equipment is well-maintained and operational. As part of your duties, you will operate loader and unloader machines, change set-ups, and complete basic maintenance tasks. You will also assist in water treatment duties and the application of chemical products as needed. This position requires flexibility, as you may be called upon to fill in and provide relief for all job functions within the Additional Finishes department.
