About The Position

Skillforce is currently hiring TIG Welders for 2nd shift at an industrial fabrication shop on a several month-long project near Grantsville, MD. This position pays $28 to $32 per hour and works four 10-hour shifts, with overtime as needed. The schedule is 4 PM to 2 AM, Monday through Thursday. Per diem is $100 per day, paid 7 days per week for those who qualify.

Candidates must be proficient welding 304 and 316 stainless steel in thicknesses ranging from 16 gauge to 1/2 inch. A visual and X-ray weld test will be conducted to ensure all welds meet production and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tig Welder
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Must own welding hood and welding gloves
• Must pass visual and X-ray weld tests
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings (including drug screen, alcohol, and background check)
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans
• Fit, assemble, and prepare structural steel components for welding
• Perform high-quality welds (visual and X-ray tested)
• Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure accuracy
