The Aerospace Welder is responsible for the production of quality aircraft component weldments. They must be capable of fitting and welding complex assemblies consisting of 4130 machined components, tubing and fittings and must be able to do so holding tight tolerances. Attention to detail required. Specialists will be expected to read and interpret engineering documents (drawings, schematics, and specifications for examples) to accomplish these activities. Familiarity with common fabrication methods in metals is expected and they will be required to use hand tools and to operate common powered, shop tools. Problem-solving and communication skills are highly valued as are communication skills and team members will need to work effectively in groups and with other departments across the organization.
