About The Position

Hartzell Aerospace Welding is seeking a skilled TIG Welder specializing in aluminum to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in welding thin aluminum materials with precision, ensuring high-quality and structurally sound welds that meet industry and customer specifications.

Requirements

• Ability to use TIG welding machines.
• Experience with belt sanders, hand-held sanders and grinders.
• Experience with powered saws and various hand tools.
• Familiarity with in process inspection tools such as measuring tapes, radial/digital calipers, height gauges, etc.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Proven experience as a TIG Welder with a focus on aluminum and the ability to weld on aluminum thickness of .035" to .065".
• Successful completion of accredited welding course or equivalent on the job training and 5-10 years high level TIG welding experience.
• Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing job duties.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions as well as decimals.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts, components, and assemblies.
• The proper fabrication and welding of customer parts and assemblies as requested.
• High Variety, low volume part work.
• No less than 90% of completed parts to successfully pass inspection process.
• Offer viable semi-annual process improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety policies and guidelines.
• Complete all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work.
• General shop housekeeping.
