About The Position

Watson Metal Masters is currently looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join our growing team! We are passionate about working closely with our customers and engineering the most creative solutions to meet their Stainless-Steel Tank needs. Our Welder/Fabricator plays an important role on the Watson Production team. The ideal candidate needs to be able to interpret blueprints, monitor machinery, and assess welded components. The candidate needs in-depth knowledge of welding on stainless tanks, welding machinery and electrical equipment, with a steady hand and attention to detail.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Valid certification in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years' experience fabricating and welding with the ability to weld with MIG, and TGAW stainless steel.
• Experience in ASME shop a plus.
• Ability to fabricate.
• Forklift training is preferred.
• Must have the ability to polish and finish stainless steel.
• Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.
• Understanding of safety standards is required, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be trustworthy, dependable, and able to work well with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawing and measurements to plan layouts.
• Weld small and large components.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Examine weld for bead size, and other specifications.
• Ability to be in confined spaces.
• 60% code work. (ability to pass 6G code test, pulse test, and ASME Certification)
• May perform other duties as assigned to help the rest of the Watson team.
