About The Position

The Tier II Field Engineer position will provide direct support to internal and external customers by communicating and executing key tasks, including designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing, and modifying systems, networking or programs based on and related to user system design specifications. Area travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Experience with or knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
  • Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
  • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Apply system analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment
  • Perform data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining access, & monitoring access
  • Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
  • Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services, and firewalls
  • Provide remote support, troubleshooting, & fault finding for both on-site engineers as well as customers
  • Perform service for products from different manufacturers and vendors
  • Manage, Create, Close, and Update, tickets in the assigned PSA system
  • Perform preventive maintenance and modifications on equipment
