About The Position

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for providing top-notch desktop support? We're seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Birmingham, AL. As a crucial member of our support ecosystem, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure. This is a full-time, permanent position working in-office in our Corporate Birmingham Branch Office location.

Requirements

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, particularly when assisting non-technical users, demonstrating patience and clarity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems to tackle diverse technical challenges.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, and VPN.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Intune Administration: In-depth knowledge and usage of Microsoft Intune.
  • Security Focus: Experience with Fortinet VPN and Firewalls to enhance network security.
  • Apple Business Essentials: Familiarity with Apple Business Essentials is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Incident Resolution: Address and resolve user-reported incidents efficiently through our help desk ticketing system.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical assistance for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and IP phones.
  • Hardware Configuration: Configure hardware for deployment to both new and existing users, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot network-related connectivity issues to maintain a robust and stable network environment.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for installations and procedures to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Asset Management: Track and record assets managed by the department to ensure accurate inventory control.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other IT team members to address and resolve severe technical issues.
  • Spare Parts Availability: Ensure the availability of spare parts, including mobile devices, desktops, laptops, and adapters, to minimize downtime.
  • Project Assistance: Provide support for other IT-related projects as needed, showcasing your adaptability and versatility.
