Job Summary: The Lead Ticketing Agent is responsible for ensuring all daily functions are completed at the Ticket Counter. Duties include but are not limited to: Providing leadership to Ticketing Agents by ensuring accurate batching of train tickets, confirming reservations, answering phones, issuing and explaining train tickets to passengers while providing an exceptional level of guest service. Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience working with reservation systems.
  • 1 year of money-handling experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based software and programs.
  • Must be comfortable with extended periods of screen time and able to maintain focus and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in the hospitality field.
  • Previous experience as a ticket agent or an on-train or polar express customer service-related position.

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement, Community Commitment, Core Values, and Cultural Pillars.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Ticket personnel are providing services that create memorable experiences and exceed guest expectations while at the ticket counter and while on board the Grand Canyon Railway train.
  • Effectively, enforcement of all Xanterra and Grand Canyon Railway hospitality standards, procedures, policies, and environmental programs.
  • Work in the following reservation systems, Opera, Book Net, and Station Master.
  • Oversee Ticket Agent personnel.
  • Responsible for participating in daily seating of passengers.
  • Professionally Interact with guests and handle concerns, complaints, and suggestions.
  • Responsible for assisting in generating train consist and sending out train counts by email.
  • Professionally answering ticket counter telephones, taking phone reservations, and making and confirming reservations for passengers.
  • Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures required of the ticket lead position.
  • Complete all necessary training required for the ticket lead position.
  • Effectively making all necessary arrangements for guests with special requests.
  • Batching tickets in alphabetical order packets for distribution to passengers.
  • Responsible for checking tickets against the daily manifest to ensure passengers are correctly seated.
  • Ensuring all cashiers follow money-handling policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing stocking of office supplies (tickets, copy paper, etc.) as needed.
  • Training personnel to an expected quality level of service for our customers
  • Other duties as assigned.
