About The Position

Saint Vincent de Paul Georgia’s (SVdP) envisions a more just and compassionate Georgia, where every neighbor lives with dignity and opportunity. With a core focus on preventing homelessness, fighting hunger, and improving health, our programs include rental and utility assistance, food recovery and distribution, and prescription fulfillment through an onsite pharmacy. Heal St. Vincent de Paul Georgia is seeking enthusiastic and mission driven employees to staff a new thrift store. Reporting to the Manager, the Thrift Store staff is responsible for generating revenue in support of St. Vincent de Paul’s mission and programs by assisting in the day-to-day operations of a non-profit thrift store. We are looking to fill different PART-TIME positions: PROCESSOR Sort, price, and prepare donated merchandise for the sales floor DONATION RECEIVER Greet donors, assist with unloading items, and ensure donations meet quality standards KEY HOLDER Support store leadership, open/close the store, and supervise team members as needed SALES ASSOCIATE Provide excellent customer service and maintain attractive, organized displays

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in retail operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication and proven leadership ability a must
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple demands and priorities
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 50 or more pounds
  • Must be comfortable working in a Catholic, faith-based environment
  • Experience with “point of sale,” computerized sales and inventory systems a plus
  • Strong team-based orientation
  • Able to fluently speak, read and write English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with volunteer groups a strong plus
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus!!

Responsibilities
