About The Position

The Thrift Store Clerk and Sorter position at The Salvation Army involves handling and pricing merchandise for sale in a retail environment. The primary objective of this role is to efficiently process merchandise according to the standards set by the Store Manager. This includes pricing unmarked items, hanging clothing, stocking racks, shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness in the store. The clerk will also be responsible for ringing up purchases, operating the cash register, accepting payments, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires the clerk to assist in setting up displays and arranging merchandise to promote sales, while also ensuring that the building and grounds are kept clean and free of trash and donated items. The clerk will report any complaints, damages, or concerns to management and support the mission of The Salvation Army in all activities.
