About The Position
FULL-TIME THRIFT STORE ASSOCIATE (Onsite) The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing personality and good organizational skills. Duties will include cashiering, answering the phone, scheduling donation pick-ups, and some warehouse and sales floor duties. Experience running a non-barcode cash register and credit card machines a plus. Lifting and standing for long periods may be necessary. Hubbard House is looking for people passionate about making a difference in the lives of victims of domestic violence and their families. We are looking for candidates with strong relationship-building skills and who believe in putting the needs of clients first.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to lift and move furniture and other large or heavy objects.
- Must be able to work on Saturdays and some holidays.
- Must be flexible; schedules subject to change.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation required.
- Vehicle insurance must be maintained.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
- Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
- applicants chosen to move forward in the hiring process must submit to the following: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening.

Nice To Haves
- Experience running a non-barcode cash register and credit card machines a plus.
- Sales, cashier experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault, domestic violence programs, bi-lingual.
