Requirements

18 years or older with a High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to respectfully communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with customers and other persons in the community.
Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with issues/emergencies.
Must work well independently and maintain a good working relationship with supervisor.
Statement of good health from a physician
Reliable method of contact - telephone
Reliable transportation to and from work

Responsibilities

Open and close the store
Maintain site security
Sort donations
Operates the cash register accurately
Stocks shelves, hang clothes, get merchandise onto sales floor in appropriate locations
Set up displays
Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the store
Supervise people with intellectual/developmental disabilities who work in the store as employees or volunteers
Work in a safe manner, report any safety hazards, follow safety procedures and encourage other staff to work safely
Safeguard funds, assure cash register drawer is even
Cooperate with The Arc, Division staff, police and governmental agencies in any inspection or investigation
All other duties as assigned by the Thrift Store Manager or Assistant Manager
