About The Position

The Quality NDT Technician at Centric Pipe is responsible for inspecting pipes and operating equipment to ensure quality standards are met. This role involves performing various testing processes, maintaining reports, and assisting supervisors with inventory and product reporting. The technician will work in an industrial environment, demonstrating knowledge of operational processes while adhering to safety and operational guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in an industrial environment using related tools and equipment.
• Six (6)+ months of training & close supervision in position.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred; Certification a plus.
• Ability to work overtime to meet operational needs.
• Acute visual ability to observe product nonconformance.
• Ability to perform intense manual labor and stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs occasionally, and 20 lbs regularly.
• Demonstrates skill in operating equipment and solving practical problems.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years experience preferred for the technician role.
• Six (6)+ months of experience in a supervisory role for foreman position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pipe and operate equipment according to operational processes.
• Collect, organize, and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform and evaluate all applicable testing accurately.
• Maintain reports on testing results.
• Assist Supervisor with inventory and product reporting.
• Direct the work of other technicians to ensure efficient quality lab processes.
• Position pipe for hydrotesting and provide general assistance.
• Utilize hydro equipment to test pipe at high pressure per specifications.
• Mark status and grade of pipe, ensuring correct stenciling.
• Perform visual inspections of outgoing pipe to ensure quality before release.
