The Canning Thoracic Institute (CTI) at Northwestern Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Thoracic Surgeon to join our team as an Associate Professor or Professor of Thoracic Surgery and Director of the Lung Health Center. This prestigious role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of lung health through innovative clinical practice, cutting-edge research, and dedicated patient care. The Lung Health Center at the Canning Thoracic Institute is a new program dedicated to the comprehensive care, early detection, and prevention of lung diseases. Through advanced diagnostic technologies and a multidisciplinary approach to lung health, integrating thoracic surgery, pulmonology, oncology, and radiology, we are committed to improving lung health outcomes through excellence in clinical care, patient education, and groundbreaking research. A cornerstone of our mission is to expand lung cancer screening broadly to enhance early detection and improve survival rates. We aim to extend our screening services to all qualifying patients and to critically evaluate the potential benefits of expanding screening programs to communities currently deemed ineligible under existing guidelines. This initiative seeks to ensure equitable access to life-saving screening and to refine screening criteria to better serve diverse populations.
