About The Position

The Third Party Risk Group at Point72 is responsible for identification, monitoring, and reporting of third party risk across the firm, as well as managing business continuity, third-party risks, and commercial lines of insurance (excluding employee benefits). As a Third Party Risk Intern, you will gain exposure to the third-party risk lifecycle, including vendor identification, onboarding documentation, and ongoing monitoring. You will assist with conducting operational due diligence by researching vendor backgrounds, organizational structure, financials, and service models. The role also involves supporting vendor risk assessments, maintaining vendor inventory, coordinating information requests with stakeholders, tracking remediation plans, preparing summaries and reports, and using spreadsheets and risk management tools for data analysis and process improvements. The summer internship program also offers mentorship, networking opportunities, sessions with senior leaders, access to best-in-class tools, exposure to various groups, and development of technical, writing, and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business, information systems, economics, computer science, or a related field
  • Completion of relevant coursework or internship experience in risk management, vendor management, compliance, audit, or information security
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including functions and pivot tables, and familiarity with presentation tools such as PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using spreadsheets or databases
  • Availability to work full-time in our New York office for the duration of the internship
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and eagerness to learn new processes and tools
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to the third-party risk lifecycle, including vendor identification, onboarding documentation, and ongoing monitoring
  • Assist with conducting operational due diligence by researching vendor backgrounds, organizational structure, financials, and service models
  • Support vendor risk assessments and help populate and maintain the vendor inventory with key controls and risk indicators
  • Assist with coordinating information requests and communications with vendor owners and internal stakeholders such as Legal, Compliance, and Information Security
  • Learn about tracking remediation plans and supporting remediation follow-up and risk reporting
  • Gain hands-on experience preparing concise summaries, risk reports, and presentation materials for team review
  • Learn to use spreadsheets and risk management tools to analyze vendor data and support process improvements
