About The Position

Alpine Research Optics is seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Thin Film Coating Technician to join their team. This full-time position involves operating vacuum coating chambers to produce thin film coatings according to customer specifications, performing maintenance on equipment, and ensuring quality through the use of spectrophotometers. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting production goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education or experience as deemed by ARO Management.
• Methodical and detail-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to interpret and apply various rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring mental and visual concentration.
• Learn to use and interpret metrology equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and instructions.
• Knowledge of basic machinery and mechanical measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Learn and use proper glass handling techniques.
• Operate vacuum coating chambers according to process instructions to produce thin film coatings.
• Meet department first pass yield goals and on-time delivery goals.
• Perform routine and periodic maintenance on coating chambers.
• Operate spectrophotometer and related equipment to verify performance of coating runs.
• Troubleshoot vacuum chamber issues.
