About The Position

The Thermoregulatory Tech in Neurodiagnostics performs the Thermoregulatory Sweat Test that provides information on the degree and pattern of sweat loss due to autonomic nervous system disorders. The technologist works alone and is responsible for proper patient preparation, maintaining accurate oral and skin temperatures during the procedure, photographing and accurately charting the patient's sweat pattern, and maintenance of the computer data base comprised of clinical and research information and results.

Requirements

• LPN or high school graduate with an emphasis in math and science.
• Health care experience.
• Previous patient contact is highly desirable.
• Basic computer skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support course C.

Responsibilities

• Perform the Thermoregulatory Sweat Test.
• Prepare patients for the procedure.
• Maintain accurate oral and skin temperatures during the test.
• Photograph and accurately chart the patient's sweat pattern.
• Maintain the computer database of clinical and research information and results.
