About The Position

The Systems Engineering team provides Wind Turbine system expertise while leading development of new products, turbine RTS activities, and strategic projects. The team owns system level trade-off decisions and continuous improvement in product development processes for the Wind product portfolio. As a Thermal Systems Engineer, you will lead the thermal design of one or more New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from initiation through to validation. Sometimes this will be done in parallel with separate programs in separate phases. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 2 years of significant experience in Engineering/Technology
• Minimum of 1 years of demonstrated experience working on wind turbine system-related projects

Responsibilities

• Executes 1D thermal system modeling for a range of wind turbine configurations and operational conditions
• Informs system-level architecture trade studies with thermal analysis
• Evaluates thermal performance data to offer potential improvements to the wind turbine design
• Supports thermal system modeling for component design teams upon request or need
• Responsible for validation plans on test units
• Defines and delivers system capability requirements across a range of meteorological, grid, environmental, and operational boundary conditions
• Influences strategy on constraint-based controls and monitoring for thermal protection
• Supports studies to maximize customer value through higher output, efficiency, and corresponding impact to wind turbine systems and components
• Potential for travel up to 10% of the time
