We are seeking a versatile Scientist and Engineer with a strong background in heat transfer to join the Linear Accelerator Systems group, specifically within the hardware group for the radiation producing subsystem on Radiation Therapy machines. The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team including microwave engineers, material scientists, and electrical and mechanical engineers. The primary focus will be analyzing and solving challenging heat transfer problems arising from the interaction of concentrated electron beams and high-power microwaves with hardware components. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with a solid background in heat transfer, fluid dynamics (including CFD), and solid mechanics (including FEA). The successful candidate must be able to independently design, construct, debug, execute, and interpret experiments. We are looking for a team player with a strong and broad technical background, superb practical hands-on aptitude, and project leadership skills. Effective collaboration in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional team is essential, as is the ability to efficiently manage project timelines and supplier collaborations in a fast-paced environment.
