About The Position

KODA Technologies is seeking five (5) experienced Thermal Fluids Analysis Engineers to support the Human Landing System (HLS) program for a major aerospace prime contractor. This critical role involves developing and executing thermal and fluid system analyses for lunar vehicle subsystems supporting NASA's Artemis program. Engineers will work with sophisticated thermal modeling tools to analyze propulsion, thermal control, and fluid distribution systems for both Lander and Transporter vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal and/or fluid system analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SINDA/FLUINT thermal fluid modeling software
  • Working knowledge of Thermal Desktop software (C&R Technologies)
  • Experience with cryogenic propellant systems and/or spacecraft thermal control systems
  • Strong technical writing skills with ability to produce clear, comprehensive reports
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace thermal/fluids analysis
  • Previous experience with human spaceflight or lunar landing systems
  • Familiarity with NASA standards and requirements for crewed spacecraft
  • Experience with heat exchanger design and analysis
  • Knowledge of propulsion system operations and thermal conditioning
  • Background in pressure control systems and pneumatics
  • Experience working in AWS or similar cloud-based engineering environments
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute SINDA/FLUINT models for fluid system analysis including: Fill and drain operations for ground launch operations
  • Gas distribution systems with high to low pressure regulation
  • Pneumatics systems with pressure control and reduction
  • Propellant tank thermodynamics and pressurization demand
  • Feedline chilldown and thermal conditioning
  • Thruster valve cycle count analysis
  • Create detailed thermal models using Thermal Desktop (version 23.R2) for: Fluids panels, instrumentation, and tank penetrations
  • Heat exchanger performance and effectiveness analysis
  • Component-level thermal behavior and heat loads
  • Conduct specialized analyses including: Vent actuator latency and pressure control logic
  • Bulk liquid warming during engine burns
  • Boiloff rate calculations and vent system sizing
  • Heat load generation and thermal interface analysis
  • Port and adapt existing thermal and fluid models to new vehicle geometries and mission timelines
  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation including: Model description reports (MS Word/PowerPoint format)
  • Analysis reports with performance margins and recommendations
  • Weekly status updates tracking progress, costs, and technical issues
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams through regular technical reviews and peer review processes
  • Work within customer network environments (AWS) and utilize secure file transfer protocols
