$90,000 - $110,000Onsite

About The Position

JCI enables customers to break through these constraints with novel complex metal components that dramatically improve heat dissipation in high-performance systems. JCI's patented Stack Forging™ process enables complex micro-geometries, resulting in single-piece, leak-tight parts that deliver superior cooling performance, lower pressure drops, and exceptional reliability. About the Role JCI is seeking a technically skilled and creative Thermal Design Engineer to join our team. The Thermal Design Engineer will support the design and development of high-quality, manufacturable thermal management components that meet performance, quality, and schedule requirements. They will work closely with the production, materials process, solutions, and quality teams to help ensure designs transition smoothly from concept to production. This role generally requires 4 days a week onsite.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical part design, preferably in a metal fabrication or machining environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Onshape).
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with ERP/PDM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings for parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles to support optimized designs.
  • Perform engineering calculations and basic tolerance analyses to verify parts meet functional and durability requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate feedback from production, quality, and solutions teams.
  • Create and maintain design documentation and revision control records.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving design-related production issues.
  • Stay current on manufacturing processes, materials, and relevant industry standards.
