We are looking for a Thermal engineer to join the Commercial Division working on incredible projects. We are looking for a Thermal Analysis Engineer to join the Commercial Division working on incredible projects. As a Thermal Engineer, you will work cross functionally around teams towards the development of NASA's Lunar Terrain Vehicle program. Employment in this role is contingent upon NASA selecting Intuitive Machines as the winner of the LTVS program, scheduled for announcement later in 2025.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in thermal analysis and design for aerospace systems. Experience with Thermal Desktop or similar thermal analysis tools is highly preferred.
• Proficient in thermal modeling, simulation, and application of heat transfer principles.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and thermal control systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in aerospace thermal analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Capable of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to provide technical leadership in the thermal domain.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and iteratively improve thermal solutions.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving project requirements and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed thermal analyses of spacecraft and aerospace systems using tools such as Thermal Desktop.
• Analyze and predict thermal behavior of components and systems across various mission phases.
• Develop and refine thermal models for spacecraft components, subsystems, and entire vehicles under varied space environments.
• Design and optimize thermal control systems (e.g., radiators, heat pipes, insulation) to meet mission-specific requirements.
• Plan and execute thermal testing campaigns (e.g., TVAC), analyze results, and correlate test data with thermal models.
• Collaborate with design, systems, and test engineering teams to integrate thermal strategies throughout the spacecraft lifecycle.
• Generate thermal documentation, including analysis reports, specifications, and test plans for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in aerospace thermal control and contribute to process improvements.
