The position involves assisting the Physical and Occupational Therapist with patient care and the implementation of treatment plans. The job holder will establish and maintain effective communication with patients, family members, and other departments, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction. Responsibilities include assisting front office staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and clean environment in the clinic. The role also involves inventory management, assisting with special projects, and maintaining patient confidentiality while supporting all patients on the rehabilitation floor.

  • Assist the Physical and Occupational Therapist with patient care and treatment plans.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, family members, and other departments.
  • Assist front office staff as needed.
  • Respond to patient questions and inquiries to maintain high patient satisfaction.
  • Care for and maintain equipment, ensuring a safe and clean clinic environment.
  • Assist with supply inventorying, stocking, and organization of clinic shelves and cabinets.
  • Assist the Lead Rehab Tech with special projects.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Assist all patients on the rehabilitation floor.
  • Ensure seamless and efficient clinic function and daily clinic flow.
  • Demonstrate current competencies for the job position.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from a technical program or BA in Kinesiology or Exercise Science is preferred.
  • One year of experience in an outpatient therapy clinic is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the application of exercise as directed by the therapist.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of how to use therapy equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skill in the application of exercise as directed by the therapist.
  • Skill in effectively communicating with Physical and Occupational Therapists and front office staff.
  • Skill in using a computer system/EMR software.
  • Skill in accurately recognizing patient/clinic dangers and appropriate fall risk patients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Ability to anticipate and recognize the needs of the clinic and the therapist.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.
